SnapJPG Privacy Policy
Last updated: 6 June 2026
SnapJPG is a Chrome extension, published by mldigital, that converts HEIC/HEIF images to JPG entirely on your device.
How your photos are handled
- All image conversion happens locally in your browser using bundled WebAssembly. Your photos are never uploaded to any server.
- Converted files are saved only when you choose to download them, directly to your computer.
Permissions
- downloads — used solely to save the JPG files and ZIP archives you create.
SnapJPG requests no access to the websites you visit, no browsing history, and runs no remote code. All processing code, including the image decoder, is bundled in the extension package.
Optional local statistics
If a future version offers usage statistics, they will be opt-in and stored only on your device. They are never transmitted.
Pro licensing (future)
A future Pro upgrade may verify a license key with a payment provider. Such a request contains only the license key — never your images or photo metadata.
Changes to this policy
